Explore rooftop potential

Every year around the end of Spring, the Rotterdamse Dakendagen - in English: Rotterdam Rooftop Days - take place. Big rooftops open up for the public on which activities are organized. The ultimate goal of the organization is to make people aware of the potential that unutilized rooftops have to offer.

The city of Rotterdam for example has over 18 square kilometers of unused flat roof space. The potential for more sustainability and inclusivity is enormous. Therefore, the organization published a Rooftop Catalogue in cooperation with architecture and urbanism practice MVRDV. The catalogue outlines 130 different purposes for unutilized rooftops.

Want to check the potential of your own rooftop or curious for other rooftops in Rotterdam? Check it out on klimaatdakje.nl (only in Dutch).
