Creating awareness for heat loss in Apeldoorn

We’ve got some exciting news, as we’ve recently started a project in Apeldoorn to create awareness for heat loss among home owners. Armed with a professional FLIR thermal infrared camera, good walking shoes and big warm scarves, we’ve taken infrared photos of approximately 1,000 homes in several neighborhoods during some pretty cold nights.

Why, one could ask? Because a successful energy transition starts with limiting the total amount of energy consumption needed. And one way to achieve that, is by making homes more energy efficient with better insulation. Many homes lack in insulation, especially those that have been built before the 1980’s. You can think of old glass with low insulation values, uninsulated cavity walls or simply draught through any opening. In these spots, heat from inside the building will leak to the outside – a pure loss of energy causing unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions…

The good news is that there are many ways to improve the insulation of a building; starting from do-it-yourself quick wins to more professional approaches. But in order to do so, you first need to know where, and how! Unfortunately, this is not a topic that is on the top of the to-do-list in the busy lives of many home owners. That’s exactly why we believe that it is so import to create awareness about heat loss and insulation. And that’s where our HeatPuls solution comes into play!
