HeatAlert expands its reach to fight urban heat islands

Dutch cities can experience a 10 degrees increase in temperatures as compared to their surroundings. HeatAlert helps municipalities make decisions to mitigate the dangerous and costly effects of urban heat islands by identifying those most as risk and suggesting mitigation methods for the most extreme situations.

Sobolt is working with multiple municipalitiesBy identifying critical areas for action, such as hospitals and elderly care facilities, Sobolt will help (e.g.Dordrecht) prepare local heat stress reports, pinpoint the exact location of heat islands, quantify their severity and jumpstart mitigation actions at vulnerable locations.

Do you have any questions? Are you interested in a similar study in your municipality? Email Graham Browning, our urban sustainability business developer, to schedule a meeting and learn more about what HeatAlert can do.
